Red Gums Camping Area

The Red Gums campsites are free camp areas located in the western area of the Big Desert State Forest, Victoria. They are accessed via a sandy track, located approximately 5 kilometres south of the Firebreak track along the Coburn Track. The camping area is signposted and the campsites are dispersed throughout the bush. Dry access only. Campers must be self-sufficient when camping at the Red Gums campsites. Campers must bring adequate drinking water and firewood. Some run-down picnic tables are available. Dogs and pets are forbidden due to wild dogs within the Big Desert State Forest.
