Berrook Campground
The Beerook campground is located in the Big Desert Wildnerness area and located approximately 46km northwest of the town of Murrayville by road. From Murrayville, travel west on the Mallee Highway for app. 17km, then turn right onto Panitya North Road. After about 19km Panitya North Road veers slightly left. Continue on for another 10km to the campground, which will be on your right.

Spend the night camping under the stars at this beautiful remote camping location, Berrook campground, Big Desert. Whether you’re passing through or exploring the Border Track 4WD experience, Berrook Campground is a convenient and comfortable stay with excellent facilities.
This campground offers modern facilities including toilets, a picnic shelter with gas BBQ and fire pits for heating or cooking however you must bring your own firewood.
If visiting during wildflower season between August and September, you will be treated to a stunning display of local flora. If travelling in summer, check the long-range forecast before you go. Temperatures can be extreme in the desert.
- Big Billy Bore Campground
- Located on the Murrayville–Nhill Road.
- Accessible by 4WD (the campground itself is relatively easy to access, but many surrounding tracks require 4WD).
- Facilities include:

- Fire pits/BBQs
- Viewing platform
- Excellent base for exploring the Big Desert tracks and for stargazing.
- Stockman’s Campground
- Deep within the Big Desert.
- 4WD access only.
- Facilities include:

- Gas BBQ
- Picnic shelter
- Bore water (not suitable for drinking)
- A good base for exploring the Wilderness Zone and nearby sand dunes.
