The Big River Camping Area is located on Jamieson-Eildon Road app. 1.3 kilometres south of The Pines Campsite and to the north of the bridge crossing Big River. This camping area provides shaded camping options and is terraced. Please Note: You must carry your own drinking water and firewood. The Jim Bullock campsite is located some 180 kilometres from Melburne and will take app. 3.5 hours drive from the centre of Melbourne Victoria Australia.
The campsites are located on an attractive bend of the river off the Eildon–Jamieson Rd, near the junction with Big River Rd. Just across the river is the fringe of the Lake Eildon National Park. Please be careful when lighting campfires, especially during periods of high fire danger. You must carry your own firewood; it’s illegal to cut any standing vegetation into firewood however you are able to collect fallen dry wood.
The Big River Camping Area is app. about 2½ hours drive north east of Melbourne and south east of Eildon. The Big River State forest offers excellent opportunities for camping, bushwalking, picnicking, fishing and kayaking. The Lower Big River has eight separate camping areas and a number of day visitor areas scattered along Eildon-Jamieson Rd and Big River Rd.

- Please protect water quality – wash up at least 50 metres away from the river and avoid using soap (use gritty sand and a scourer instead)
