SEC Bridge Camping area is located in the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve, and can only be accessed by walking in to this bush camping site. The camping area is only a short distance walk over the bridge that crosses the small creek from the car park. The SEC Bridge campground features drop toilets and fire pits but little else s- campers will need to be fully self-sufficient and carry their own wood and fresh water. The campsite is grassed and offers a small amount of shade. There is a small cost to camp at this campsite and pets are strictly prohibited.
Approximate costs are $3 per motorcycle, $7 per car and $35 for larger vehicles – costs are per night.
The Murrindindi Scenic Reserve, situated to the east of Glenburn on the Melba Hwy, covers a distance of some 815 ha and was badly damaged during the 2009 Black Saturday Victorian bushfires. DEWLP authorities have rebuilt facilities and the reserve along with its campsites and walking tracks having since been reopened to the public following the fires.
To access Sec bridge Camping area, from Healesville drive app. 13km along Myers Creek Rd towards Toolangi. Take a right turn into Sylvia Creek Rd then onto Murrindindi Rd before driving a further 20km through forest to the Reserve.
The SEC camping ground is a carry in tent campsite suitable for campers who are fully self-sufficient. It sits alongside the Murrindindi River Walk, next to the River. and a camping permit is required. The Murrindindi Scenic Reserve provides excellent opportunities for a range of recreational activities including camping, bushwalking, bird watching, picnicking and fishing. Firearms are not permitted in any parts of the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve and on the spot fines will apply.
