About
There are three camping areas located on the valley floor along the Rubicon River, being Kendall’s Camping Area, The Boys and Tin Hut campsite Rubicon State Forest. The Boys was the location of the single men’s camp after WW1, while Tin Hut was the location of Tin Hut township that serviced the hdyro-electric scheme and timber workers in the first half of the 20th century. All offer fairly basic bush camping experiences; there are pit toilets are provided at Kendalls and The Boys. A short but pretty and interesting walking track connects Kendalls Campground and The Boys campgrounds – there is a longer circuit which begins from The Boys Campsite. To camp at The Boys Campsite, you need to be largely self-sufficient – please carry your own firewood and fresh water. You will find good grassed areas and sites with good shade at The Boys.
