The Slaty Creek Campground number 2 is one of 3 campsites Slaty Creek – the other two being Slaty Creek number 1 and Slaty Creek number 3. The camping areas Slaty Creek are located in the Creswick Regional Park in central Victoria Australia, and close to Melbourne – these campgrounds are app. twenty minutes from the small town of Creswick. Camping at the Slaty Creek campground is a popular base for the Goldfields Track walk. Slaty Creek campground provides creek side camping in open forest and gold mining areas; there is excellent opportunities for bird watching with kookaburras, magpies, rosellas and fantails common. This campsite is designed for short-term camping only; there is no cost and bookings cannot be made. Please bring your own firewood and drinking water. There is also bush camping at Slaty Creek No 3, however, there are no toilets at this campsite. There is a total of 3 campsites at Slaty Creek in the Creswick Regional Park – it is a popular campground so get there early. The toilets are composting at Slaty Creek campground.
