Gentle Annie Campground
A free bush camp on Limberlost Road in the Toolangi State Forest, popular with trail bike riders and 4WD visitors exploring the forest tracks north-east of Melbourne. The site has toilets and allows campfires, set among tall forest close to the Yarra Ranges. Access can be rough in places, so a 4WD is recommended, particularly after rain. Camping is free with no bookings required, and dogs are welcome as with most Victorian state forest camping areas. Powered and unpowered sites, pet-friendly. Gentle Annie Caravan & Camping Reserve was created over 50 years ago for the workers on the power lines and has flourished as a much loved holiday location. The park is full of character with rustic features, and basic, clean and functional facilities. We are approximately 2.8 hectares in area; spanning both sides of the King River, connected by the Gentle Annie Bridge. Our location is prized for the immediate access to the King River, close to the Alpine National Park, State Forest and Lake William Hovell.
