Fort Ohare Camping Area
Fort O’Hare camping area, Dartmoor Victoria Australia free campground, dogs allowed on leads is set on the northern bank of the Glenelg River and is a popular camping area with canoeists, kayakers and paddlers who set off on the 4 day, 75 km paddle through the Lower Glenelg National Park to the river mouth past the town of Nelson. To access the Fort O’Hare campground, turn off the Princes Hwy onto Ascot St, then right on Greenham St. This is an excellent and popular free campsite. Fantastic camping area! There are excellent toilets, but no water – water is available at the Town Hall in nearby Dartmoor. The O’Hare campground is suitable for larger rigs including caravans, camper-trailers, campervans and motorhomes. Campers into fishing will enjoy throwing a line in the Glenelg River and make sure you pack your bike to explore the region and Dartmoor via bicycle. Dartmoor is a small town that features its Armed Forces inspired sculptures carved from pine trees and planted in an Avenue of Honour for World War One soldiers.
