About
Walpeup Lake Camping Area
Walpeup Lake campsite is a free, shady area signposted by the lake in Timberoo South. Access is signposted 14 kilometres south-east of Walpeup along Hopeton-walpeup Road. Campers are required to be self-sufficient and bring their drinking water and gas stove. There are picnic tables and a barbecue available at the campgrounds. It is a suitable stop for one or two nights or an excellent lake for kayaking and swimming when it is full. NB: The lake is currently empty due to water no longer being piped in and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Area is over grown and run down. Toilet block is non functional and obviously not maintained. Clearly nothing going on here whilst the lake is dry. If you are keen on the absolute basics then it's not a bad overnight stop.
