About
Wallpolla Island State Forest has free bush camping at the Wallpolla Island bush campsites. On the banks of the Murray River, the state forest is located 25 kilometres from Merbein. The camping areas can be accessed along Old Mail Road, close to the New South Wales border. The camping grounds are dispersed along the banks of the Murray in a bush setting. Campers are required to be self-sufficient and carry drinking water. Campfires are allowed at this camping area. Camper trailers and caravans are suitable here. Dogs are also permitted. Campers must provide their own firewood and adhere to the DSE fire regulations. Dry weather access only due to seasonal flooding.
