The Keppel Hut Camping area is a 4WD only camping area for parts of the year – especially in winter or following heavy rain. Access to the Keppel Hut campground is off Lady Talbot Drive. You must be fully self-sufficient to camp here; carry your own drinking water and firewood. The camping area is walk in, and is only small and near Keppel Hut. To protect the delicate environments of the forest, campers are requested to ‘tread lightly’ in the bush to minimise impact on the beautiful natural environment. Be careful when camping under trees; trees can drop their limbs at any time but particularly during high winds. Do not dig trenches around tents; this is unnecessary with modern tents and particularly if you choose a well-drained or raised site. Please protect water quality by washing up at least 50 metres away from the river and avoid using soap – leave campsites tidy, and take all rubbish home with you.
