Petroffs Camping Area

The 4WD only bush camping Petroffs Campsite Upper Big River State Forest Victoria Australia is signposted from Big River Road. You must carry your own firewood, food and water – dogs are permitted. This is a four wheel drive camping area only, and is not accessible by 2WD vehicles. The Lake Eildon National Park is in the northern foothills of the central highlands of Victoria, app. 150 km north-east of Melbourne. The park is situated on the shores of Lake Eildon and protects over 27,000 hectares of rugged hills with open woodlands through to dense forest. It is very scenic and a popular camping destination offering the opportunity to experience an array of wildlife, natural and historic features and a wide range of recreational activities including fishing, bushwalking, kayaking, four wheel driving and trail riding.
