Cassinia Campground in the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve is a reasonably sized camping area suitable primarily for tent based camping – a small caravan, campervan or camper trailer will also be suitable but no big rigs. The site offers a good amount of shade and is close to a creek. The Cassinia Campsite has drop toilets and fire pits only – campers will need to be mostly self-sufficient and carry your own water and firewood. A small cost applies to camp at the Cassinia camping area; pets are prohibited. Camping Murrindindi Scenic Reserve is popular and offers the camper and day visitor with opportunities to go bushwalking, swimming and fishing.
Approximate camping costs at Cassinia Campground are motorcycles $3.00, passenger vehicles $7.00, large vehicle $20-35.00. Costs are per vehicle, per night. This site is well suited to families camping with children. as the site is quite open and doesn’t offer vehicle access to the locations where tents are situated. You must pay the relevant charges and have a valid permit to camp at Cassinia Campsite. To access Cassinia Campground, when travelling from Healesville drive 13km along Myers Creek Rd towards the town of Toolangi. Take a right turn into Sylvia Creek Rd and then onto Murrindindi Rd. Drive for a further 20 kilometres through the forest until you reach the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve. See also SEC Bridge Camping
There are a total of 6 campsites and two picnic areas – as indicated a couple of sites are suitable for small caravans or similar. The nearest flushing toilets are located at Suspension Bridge, Ferns Campsite and Bull Creek campsites – all other campsites in this area have pit toilets only.
