The Molesworth Recreation Reserve Caravan and Camping Park is located in the township of Molesworth in the Shire of Murrindindi on the banks of the Goulburn River. The Molesworth Recreational Reserve is located on crown land and is under the control of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and is managed by the Molesworth reserve committee of management.
The Molesworth Recreational Reserve has live-in caretakers who manage the day to day running and maintenance and beauty of the reserve.The campground features a shower and toilet block, laundry room with coin operated washing machines and dryer. There are no permanent residents permitted at the reserve and site holders have to sign a site agreement every twelve months.
The reserve is dog-friendly but rules regarding pets must be strictly observed. Campfires are also welcome but must be contained within designated fire pits. Fires are not permitted on days of total fire ban or when the caretakers deem the weather too dangerous to have fires within the reserve.
There is free undercover electric BBQ’s, picnic tables and seating located behind the pavilion; in the rear of the pavilion is a camp kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, kettle and dining table and chairs for campers to use free of charge. Within the pavilion is an area with some entertainment for all including satellite television, use of the television is only with permission of the caretakers
The facilities at the Molesworth Recreational Reserve camping areas are generally pretty good. The campground Molesworth Recreational Reserve campground are located in a riverside reserve, signposted north off the highway to the west of the bridge over the Goulburn River. Fishermen should look for signs of trout when walking along the riverbank, or launch small boats from the basic boat ramp. There are also short walks that can be taken through the reserve. You’ll need to carry your own firewood.
