Wild Dog Bend Camping Lower Glenelg National Park Victoria Australia with access off the Nelson-Winnap Road. Experience the best of the Glenelg River when camping at the Wild Dog Bend Campground which is very popular for a range of water activities including flat water canoeing, kayaking, fishing and swimming. This small campground at Wild Dog Bend offers two unpowered campsites, both suitable for tents and camper trailers only. Each campsite accommodates up to six people. Campground facilities include non-flush toilets, fireplaces, picnic tables and non-potable water. You must carry your own firewood and drinking water. Advanced bookings and payment are required year-round. The Wild Dog Bend Campground is easily accessible by 2WD vehicles, and advanced bookings are required year-round. This is a very popular campground. The Glenelg River is a great waterway for flat water canoeing for both experienced and inexperienced paddlers. It covers a distance of over 75km from Dartmoor to its mouth near Nelson. For most of its course, the river flows through the Lower Glenelg National Park, a place of exceptional natural beauty which is home to spectacular wildlife. Visitors to the Lower Glenelg National Park Victoria can stay at some of the 7 campsites reserved exclusively for the use of canoeists and kayakers and for fishing. While the full Glenelg River Trail takes around four days, there is a popular three-day option and you can also hire a canoe for a day-trip. There are canoe hire outlets in Dartmoor, Winnap and Nelson. All canoe campsites in the park must be booked and pay all applicable fees.
