About
The Camping Cathedral Range State Park Cathedral Range State Park is located in Victoria Australia being located app. 100 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, making it a popular weekend camping location reachable within an easy drive from Melbourne and suburbs. It is situated between the towns Buxton and Taggerty and runs parallel to the Maroondah Highway. To reach the small Farmyard camping area you must walk in from Jawbone carpark on Cerberus Rd along the steep Jawbone Creek Track. This will take you app. 1-hour. The biggest physical challenge is south of this campsite, being the Wells Cave Track which is a very difficult, demanding and exposed route linking Sugarloaf Saddle with Sugarloaf Peak. It is also possible to reach Sugarloaf Peak via the Razorback Ridge Track. The Farmyard Camping Area is accessible to bushwalkers only, and is located off the unsealed Razorback Ridge Track at the base of South Jawbone Peak. There are no costs to camp at The Farmyard campground, and bookings can’t be made. Campsites are on a first in, first-served basis. This is a very basic bush camping area; there are no facilities available.
Fires are not permitted; a portable gas stove or similar is recommended for cooking. There is no drinking water available, so please carry your own water.
There is no rubbish collection at this campground, so all rubbish must be taken with you.
