About
The shady campground at Cooks Mill in the Cathedral Ranges State Park, Victoria Australia is located among tall trees on the banks of Little River.
Access to the Cooks Mill camping area is located at the start of Lowerson Track off Little River Road immediately before it crosses the river. The Cooks Mill campsite is 3 kilometres south of Neds Gully Campground, with all sites well grassed and offering good shelter. This site used to be a sawmill in times past. Advance bookings and payment are required. Individual sites cannot be reserved – you can select your campsite(s) within the campground when you arrive. There are excellent non-flush toilets, picnic tables, on-site information, picnic shelter and fireplaces at Cooks Mill. The fireplaces do not include a cooking plate so you will need to bring you own; we recommend you carry a fuel stove and bring your own firewood if you intend to use the existing fireplaces. There are 30 campsites available accommodating a maximum of 6 people per campsite. Campsites are suitable for tents, camper trailers, campervans, small caravans and recreational vehicles. Firewood collection is prohibited in the park but can be purchased from the nearby towns of Taggerty or Buxton.
Please supply your own drinking water. Some water is available from Little River but it is not suitable for drinking. There is no rubbish collection at this campground, so all rubbish must be removed when you leave. See also: Neds Gull Camping
