Jackass Fern Gully Camping Area is a great little camping spot to pitch your tent if camping in the Portland area of Victoria, Australia. To access Jackass Campground Fern Gully from Portland, drive west for around 22 km along the road to Nelson where you will find a signpost to turn-off north onto the T&W Rd. Continue for a further 20 km to the signposted turn-off to Jackass Fern Gully, which is around 300 metres off T&W Road. This peaceful campground is flat and provides reasonable wheelchair access. Sites cannot be booked, there are no fees and camping is on a first come first-served basis – if the campground is full you will need to find another location. Of the 13 total available campsites available, two only are set aside for tents with the remaining for caravans, campervans, camper trailers or motorhomes. All campsites are unpowered – dogs are OK but must be kept under control at all times. There are long-drop, non-flush toilets only, picnic tables, fireplaces, visitor information and car parking.
